Heike Firefly and Genji Firefly Observation Session

Appi Kogen is home to lush forests that continue to nurture clean, fresh water.
The Appi Kogen area harbors three species of fireflies—Hime fireflies, Heike fireflies, and Genji fireflies.
From early July to mid-August, you can witness their enchanting dance of light.
Don’t miss this fleeting opportunity to experience the beauty of these fireflies, visible only during this limited season.

Junior high school students and older: 3,000 yen / With foreign language interpreter (English/Chinese): 4,000 yen
Elementary school students: 2,700 yen / With foreign language interpreter (English/Chinese): 3,700 yen
Preschool children may participate free of charge when accompanied by a paying guardian.

※ If there is only one person who applies, the event will be at the rate of two people.

Please apply for a web reservation by 5:00 PM the previous day.

Equipment & Items

Clothing: To protect against cold weather, light rain, and insect bites, please wear long sleeves and long pants. We recommend bringing an extra layer. Comfortable walking shoes such as sneakers are required (sandals are not allowed).
