Hachimantai CAT & Hiking Tour (Chausudake Backcountry Tour)

Due to a CAT vehicle breakdown, operations for this season have now concluded.

Eligibility

Skiers and snowboarders with backcountry experience from junior high school age and up

Schedule

7:30 AM

Reception and meeting at APPI Explore, ANA Crowne Plaza 1F
Drive to the former Hachimantai ski resort
Prepare for skiing at Hachimantai CAT office (change ski boots)

8:30 AM

CAT ride
Hike-up tour begins

3:00 PM

End of tour
Drive to ANA Crowne Plaza

4:00 PM

Arrival at ANA Crowne Plaza and dismissal after review

Fee (tax included)

Residents of Japan 23,000 yen
Foreign visitors to Japan 30,000 yen *For those who cannot speak Japanese, the fee will be charged for foreign visitors to Japan.
Please understand that the price differs from the Japanese rate because an English-speaking interpreter will accompany the tour. (The interpreter provides service in English only.)
● If two people participate in a tour, the tour can be organized by paying a fee for three people.

Course Data

Hike up: From the Daikokumori–Ebisumori saddle to the summit of Chausudake, Distance: 1.7 km, Elevation gain: 150 m
Descent: From the summit of Chausudake (1,574 m) to the foot area / Gozaisho (950 m), Distance: 3 km
*Course data is approximate. Please note that there may be sections requiring additional climbing.

Necessary equipment

Avalanche transceiver (beacon), probe, shovel, backpack, helmet, tour skis, climbing skis or snowboard, snowshoes, adjustable touring poles, backcountry-appropriate clothing, goggles, hat, gloves, face mask, lunch, drinks and snacks
