Basic Pickleball Rules

[Serve]
You have one serve only. Serve underhand from below the waist, aiming diagonally across to the opponent’s court.
If the ball touches the net but crosses the “kitchen line,” it is valid.

[Scoring]
Only the serving side can score. You earn 1 point when the opponent makes a mistake. First to 11 points wins (must win by 2 points).

[Two-Bounce Rule]
After the serve, both the receiver and the server must let the ball bounce once before returning it.
After that, volleys (hitting without a bounce) are allowed.

[Kitchen Rule (Non-Volley Zone)]
Volleys are prohibited in the area near the net called the “kitchen.” It is also a fault if your foot enters the kitchen after a volley.
However, hitting a ball after it bounces is allowed.

[Drop Shot]
The “drop shot,” which gently drops the ball in front of your opponent, is an important technique for advancing to the net.
It prevents your opponent’s powerful shots and gives you an advantage.
