Let’s go out into nature and look for insects!

This is a hands-on tour where you can search for and observe insects in the rich natural environment of Appi Kogen.
Our guide will introduce you to how to find insects and their characteristics in an easy-to-understand way, making this tour perfect not only for children who love insects, but also for those observing insects for the first time.
What you’ll find is the fun of the day. Please experience the excitement of discovering nature.

Itinerary

08:30 Meet up, self-introductions, and explanation of the insect exploration activity. Create a bingo card by imagining what kind of insects there are in Appi Kogen.

09:50 Let’s go out and look for insects! The guide will tell you a lot of things. (Take a car to the Beech station.)

11:10 Returning to the hotel, looking back at the insects of your bingo card and matching the answers

11:30 End of the tour

Ages 13 and older: 4,500 yen per person / Ages 6-12: 4,000 yen per person
[For hotel guests] Ages 13 and older: 4,000 yen per person / Ages 6-12: 3,500 yen per person
*Preschool children aged 4 and older are free of charge when accompanied by a guardian.
*Children must be age 9 or older to join without a guardian.

How to Participate

Please apply for a web reservation by 5:00 PM 2 days prior to the date.

Equipment & Items

Clothing: To ensure comfort and safety, please wear long sleeves, long pants, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes such as sneakers. Sandals are not allowed.
Items to bring: Be sure to bring drinks and insect repellent spray. If you have them, a bug net and insect cage are also recommended.

Remarks

This program is not intended for insect collection. The captured insects are returned on the spot after observing them.
In the event of rain, the activity will be canceled.
In that case, our staff will contact each guest with a reservation directly.

APPI 1304 Gondola Cruise (Golden Week)

The gondola ride takes about 15 minutes. From the gondola summit station, follow the promenade to the summit of Mt.Maemori, which is 1,304m above sea level.
