2026 Lunar New Year Celebration at APPI

Join the fun in our snow sculpture competition! Create horse-themed snow sculptures to welcome the Year of the Horse, bringing luck and peace. Make wonderful winter memories with family and friends.

〇Dates: Feb 16, 18, 19, 20, 2026
〇Time: 10:30 AM-12:30 PM
〇Fee: 4,000 JPY per group (up to 4 people, including adults and children)
〇Location: Location: In front of ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Appi Kogen (slope side), around the illuminated “APPI” sign

〇Details:
・Follow staff instructions to create a horse-themed snow sculpture
・Sculpture time: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
・After completion, sculptures will be judged by Appi representatives, and each group will receive an original Appi gift.

Join a special early-morning event at Appi, where you’ll ride the gondola to the summit and welcome the Lunar New Year with the first sunrise of the year. On the descent, enjoy a first-track ski run on the Yamabato Course. This limited Lunar New Year event provides a unique and memorable way to start the year.

〇Itinerary:
・5:30 Meet at APPI Explore (Punctuality required)
・5:40 Depart for the gondola station; transfer and board the gondola
・6:20 Arrive at the summit
・6:20–7:45　Sunrise viewing / Prayer / Distribution of health charms / Sake tasting, Afterwards, break at the summit café
・7:45 Descend the mountain (by gondola or via the Yamabato course)
*Descent by ski is available on the Yamabato Course only.

On the first day of Lunar New Year, visit famous local shrines to pray for peace and success in the new year. Walk through snow-covered forests, along 200+ year old cedar and pine tree paths, and enjoy the serene atmosphere and natural beauty.
This guided tour includes transportation by a dedicated vehicle(van). Guests will be driven to the mountain, disembark to visit and explore the sites, and then return by the same vehicle at the end of the tour.

10:00 Depart from APPI Explore and travel toward Fudo Waterfall by a guided vehicle
10:30 Arrive at the site and enter the mountain area ・Visit Sakuramatsu Shrine (praying for peace, health, and success in career; viewing the “Love Tree”)
・Visit Dragon Shrine (praying for protection and favorable weather)
・Visit Fudo Shrine (praying for steadfast protection and relief from worries)
・Visit Fudo Waterfall (one of Japan’s 100 Famous Waterfalls)
・Experience Chinese-style fortune drawing and receive a health charm 11:30 Depart the mountain area and return by vehicle
Stop by a miso and tofu shop on the way
12:15 Arrive at APPI Explore and tour concludes
