Nansho Estate

There are a residence and well maintained gardens arranged in its grounds, beyond 3,300 m2 in area.
Green tea and lunch menu (reservations are required for lunch) are available.

Bank of Iwate Nakanohashi

Completed in 1911, this building has been one of the important architectural assets designated as an important Culture Property.
The exterior of red brick and white granite together with its Renaissance dome are impressive and a must see landmark.

Available for free visits (only building exterior)

500 Disciples of Buddha (Hoonji Temple)

Hoonji temple houses 499 statues including Marco Polo and Kublai Khan. The number of statues would become 500 when you include yourself who is looking at statues.
You may find a face you have seen before or even a face like yours.

Morioka Hachiman-gu Shrine

Later on the Nanbu Clan constructed main building and had adhered to the shrine as guardian shrine. The famous Nanbu-style "Yabusame" (horseback archery) is held every year in the ground.

Morioka Castle Site (Iwate Park)

The castle foundations are made of local granite and counted as one of Tohoku' s great castle sites. The area has been turned into the pleasant park where people enjoy walking through.
Along the riverside of Nakatsugawa River, one can find Nanbu ironware benches setting under trees.

The brewing equipment transferred from Germany.
We brewed classic beer by traditional manufacturing method of Europe.

Azumaya

The rich flavored homemade soba with high quality buckwheat is served.
When eating over 100 servings, a draft commemorating a record is given.

Seijiro

The ingredients for sushi coming from the Sanriku coast and other local markets are extremely fresh. You can easily pick up your favorite pieces from its conveyor belt style table.

Sanzushi

Sushi prepared with abundant seafood from the Sanriku coast is served.
Besides their fresh seafood, the specialty, Natto-maki (fermented soybean rolled sushi), is worth trying.

Wakana

Dishes using specially selected Maesawa beef and abalone from the Sanriku coast are cooked by chef in front of customers.
Maesawa beef is considered to be the best Japanese beef for its excellent marbled quality that melts on the tongue.
