One of the great winter resorts in Japan-APPI

APPI is located in latitude 40° N where world's famous ski resorts such as Austria's Arlberg and USA's Aspen are located. Our ski resort is on the Mt. Maemori (1305m/4281ft) and Mt. Nishimori (1328m/4357ft) in the Hachimantai National Park. Most slopes are facing north side that keeps snow conditions well because of lesser direct sun hitting on slopes during the day. Also, our well-known Aspirin snow (light and fine snow flakes) makes skiers and snowboarders enjoy riding from early December till early May. Starting with the longest run of "Yamabato" Run (5500m) for beginners, we proudly have the large scale of 21different terrains that are similar to Europe's and America's resorts for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Overwhelmingly Large Scale
Area of whole terrain is 282 Hectare / 21 terrains / 45.1km of the total runs' length / maximum hotel capacity of 7000 guests per day-They are all greater than average ski resorts in Japan.
The Best Quality of Snow
You can enjoy snow activities in APPI on the over 1300m of north-facing mountains with light and dry "Aspirin Snow" for longer period of time.
The Quality of Slopes
We conduct high quality of snow maintenance by 10 groomers every night so that you can enjoy the best condition on the slopes.
Various Activities
Our area offers different snow activities other than skiing and snowboarding such as snowmobiling and snow-shoeing. Enjoy your stay with snow.
Easy Access
For example, if you take a bullet train (Shinkansen), it takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to Morioka Station, and it takes about 50 minutes to APPI by a bus. So, it takes about 200 minutes from Tokyo to APPI. Actually, APPI is not too far.

APPI's great points from Eiichi Kodama - the president of APPI Ski & Snowboard School
APPI resort has a lot of long radial slopes from the peak
that are very rare in Japanese ski areas.
We conduct high quality of snow maintenance by 10 groomers every night so that you can enjoy the best condition on the slopes.
APPI Ski & Snowboard School
Certified Austria National Ski Instructor / Alpine Ski Trainer / Snow Mountain Guide, Professional Ski Instructor of America Certified Ski Instructor He has been focusing on delivering the fascination of the snow sports to many people through his ski lessons since 1985 when ski school was established. He is a technical member of World Ski Instructor Federation and an international chairman of Ski Instructor Association of Japan. He has visited many ski areas outside of Japan, and he has communicated with a lot of people from other countries for international exchange.
APPI resort has a lot of long runs compared to other ski resorts in Japan. You can enjoy the most of runs from the peak to the bottom area. Also, the radial shape of course layout smoothly goes down to the base area so that you can enjoy very long runs such as 2, 3 km or longer. Moreover, because the best quality of the snow and detailed course maintenance make less stress from the snow, you might be less tired after long time of riding. You can rarely find this kind of ski area in Japan and even Europe and America. There are many skiers who got used to short runs because most ski areas in Japan have shorter runs. You might feel confused when you go to big ski resorts outside of Japan. I recommend riding in APPI if you are planning to go to foreign ski resorts or wishing to go there someday. Of course, I recommend whoever wants to ride safe for longer time without tiring too much. Please come and experience our long runs in 40° atitude APPI Ski Resort.
APPI has the longest Yamabato Run (5.5km) and
12 out of 21 runs are longer than 2 km.
