The maintenance of runs is necessary for pleasure riding. It is not only meant for groomed runs but also ungroomed runs. We would like to satisfy different needs for different riding styles. We are going to the next level, and it is based on detailed snow maintenance with the outstanding scale and the best quality of snow.
The snow grooming maintenance that even cares about the border of groomed and ungroomed terrains
"I feel like I am a better rider in APPI." This is actually one of the real responses from our guests. Because of the great quality of snow and our detailed grooming techniques that create fewer bumps made by the maintenance, riding impact from the snow is reduced. We don't call wild mountains "ski runs" . That means the snow maintenance is very basis. We just follow that basis and conduct the maintenance by thanking to the nature. Riding well-maintained runs is the way of enjoying the best snow condition.
Weekend and midday grooming
Especially on busy Sundays, the Shirakaba Run in front of the APPI Resort Centre, popular with beginners and families, is groomed every midday. This meticulous grooming is one reason why we think you will enjoy the safe and immaculate conditions, but add onto that the spectacle of the huge snow groomers parading down the runs and then skiing on the freshly groomed runs after them, and you will realise why this is a really popular part of the APPI experience.
Careful grooming makes the season longer
APPI enjoys a really long snow season up to the beginning of May, but this isn' t just because of the vast amount of snow, and not because the mountain is north facing, it' s because the runs are carefully groomed every day and the snow is densely packed and doesn' t melt easily.
The data of APPI's snowfall is based on after grooming.
Our public data of the snowfall is based on the average of the peak's and the base area's snowfall after grooming. It usually shows lesser amount than the actual snowfall. We believe guests should know the fact data of slopes they ride. Some people say that, "There are lots of bushes and rocks are showing even with 80 cm snowfall" or "We enjoyed riding with only 40 cm snowfall in APPI" . There is not set standard to measure snowfall of slopes, but we would like to give the possible fact to our guests.
