Beech woods - Nature Experence - APPI Green Season

The wilderness just outside !
APPI reforested beech woods

The amazingly beautiful forests surrounding the resort.

Around APPI you have the rare opportunity to spend precious time strolling through the wonderful landscape of the northern Japanese forests. The warmer months are the perfect time to grab a map and wander carefree through some of these areas to experience the Japan that time forgot !

10 minutes by car from the hotel area at APPI. These beech woods; named as one of the top 100 forests in Japan and also as one of the top 100 forest walks in Japan, are a must see during your stay !

Extending throughout about 100ha of the APPI highlands are these magnificent forests of beech and virgin Aomori pine woods. In the past, the beech woods have been used as a source of wood, however not all the trees were cut down, and what you see today is the result of re-growth from those untouched trees. The ability of beech to hold large amounts of water adds to the cooling atmosphere that brings people from all over the country to this spot.
